Brückenweg: around Lake Thun on foot

There are numerous scenic vantage points, beautiful landscapes and cultural objects around Lake Thun, which are accessible via an extensive network of hiking trails amongst other things. These trails either follow the shoreline or continue up into the hills; however, they are not designed collectively as a connected circular trail around the lake. Several gorges can only be conquered with a steep descent and ascent. The Panorama Rundweg Thunersee Association wants to change this. The goal: You should be able to hike around Lake Thun on foot. To date, two panorama bridges have been built: Sigriswil and Leissigen. Further suspension bridges are planned.

Suspension bridges conquer gorges

The gorges are conquered via suspension bridges spanning up to 340 meters or guided routes with minor altitude differences along the sides. The hiking work of the century has thus come into being around Lake Thun: Thanks to the latest construction techniques, gullies and gorges can be easily and safely conquered, and every hike, with only minimal altitude differences, thereby becomes an unforgettable experience. Whether as a hiker, jogger, or Nordic walker, alone, in a group or as a family – the suspension bridges in the Lake Thun panorama circular loop are a unique experience for young and old.

Circular trail around Lake Thun – project status:

Please visit our panorama bridges in Sigriswil or Leissigen and enjoy an unparalleled view of Lake Thun and the Bernese Alps. We welcome individuals, families and groups.
